RussiArt salutes the New Milleniium with a New Exhibition. This exhibition transports you to a Soviet city, where humanity is flattened by sameness, where material reality is the only reality. The works featured are both paintings and satiric notes by the artist.
Karpov depicts Soviet materialism in a comic and playful way. He creates a natural interplay of disparate qualities - realistic and fantastic, montrous and beautiful. Strangeness, irregularity, vanity leads finally to postive, constructive results. If one peers into a keyhole long enough, one is certain to see something outstanding, says Andrei Karpov.
