"Paradise, Interrupted: An Environment by Lisa Ludwig"
2001-01-11 until 2001-03-04
Museum of Fine Arts, Houston
Houston, TX, USA

For Lisa Ludwig the selection of materials used in her work is not just for creating the object but saturates and confirms the hidden message. Gender issues, the comic, storytelling and an underlying foreboding of sweetness and sourness are the foundations in her work. Ludwig's crystalline sugar immediately attracts the viewer. Additionally, the precision, skill and sheer technical mastery of her pieces create evanescent objects of desire.

Ludwig will produce new site-specific installations for this exhibition. An illustrated catalogue will accompany the exhibition. Valerie Loupe Olsen, Associate Director of the Glassell School of Art will curate the exhibition and write the catalogue essay.
