This assemblage of works from across Italy is the result of theoretical investigations by their authors that defy the pitfalls of ideology, despite the postmodern theories upon which most of these architects were raised. Unintended for a life on paper, this work addresses new social conditions, and explores specific physical and cultural terrain, making use of innovative materials.
Organized by Pippo Ciorra, Nuova Architettura per Nuove Cittá includes works by ABDR, Carmen Andriani, Aldo Aymonino, Stefano Boeri, Pippo Ciorra, Alberto Ferlenga, Mose Ricci & Filippo Spaini, Renato Rizzi, Mirko Zardini & Luca Meyer, and Cino Zucchi. The projects address four urban themes: the single-family house, physical scale, public space, and the dichotomy between landscape and nature. Projects are represented in photographs, drawings and models.
