SOTHEBYS.COM, in association with ArtLink Inc., is pleased to offer an exciting online auction of International Young Art featuring the creations of young and emerging artists from the four corners of the world. An international panel of art advisors selected the 89 works by 49 up-and-coming artists from 23 countries. Brazil, Bulgaria, Canada, El Salvador, Iran, Israel, France, Germany, Japan, the Netherlands, Norway, Russia, Spain, Sweden, the USA, and the former Yugoslavia are all represented.
Among the highlights of the online auction is photo-realistic painting by Dutch artist Erik Tierolf entitled Quos and '90 with an estimate of $2,800/3,200. Brazilian artist Walter Goldfarb is represented with a large mixed media work on raw canvas, The Golem (estimate $28,000/32,000). Also included are two works by Iranian born artist, Samira entitled Self Destructive Urges (estimate $2,200/2,800) and Ritual Feast (estimate $3,500/4,000).
All the works in the online SOTHEBYS.COM sale will be on view in a special exhibition in New York at the Elizabeth Foundation for the Arts, 323 W. 39th St., from Tuesday, January 23 -Tuesday, January 30, 2001.
In keeping with the original concept of ArtLink’s International Young Art program, this sale give young artists global exposure while making their art accessible and affordable to first-time and seasoned collectors everywhere.
