"Drawn to Painting: Leon Kossoff drawings and prints after Nicolas Poussin"

Several years ago, a major exhibition
of the work of Nicolas Poussin at the
Royal Academy in London so
impressed Kossoff that he sought
permission to work in the galleries
before the exhibition was open to the
public, drawing and etching after
several paintings. This exhibition, of
44 drawings and etchings, is the
result of such encounters - an exciting
marriage of Kossoff's vigorous lines
and Poussin's dramatic classical and
biblical subject matter in a dynamic
Baroque style.
