"Nell Blaine: Sensations of Nature"
2001-03-22 until 2001-06-23
Marsh Art Gallery, University of Richmond
Richmond, VA, USA United States of America

Co-organized by the Marsh Art Gallery and the Cape Ann Historical Museum, Gloucester, Massachusetts, this is Nell Blaine's first major retrospective exhibition since her death. A native of Richmond, Blaine (1922-1996) was an important member of the second generation of the New York School.

Coming to prominence with her abstractions as one of the few women involved in Abstract Expressionism, she is more widely known and acknowledged for her oils and watercolors of gardens, landscapes, and flower-filled still lifes.
