"Body as Byte"
2001-03-23 until 2001-06-03
neues Kunstmuseum Luzern
Lucerne, , CH Switzerland

New technologies and scientific theories presume that the body will not be regarded as a biological organism but as a complex set of integrated codes and communication streams. The human is a cyborg, cybernetic organism and the borders of the natural and artificial are fading. The collected Body as Byte projects offer on one hand the fascination of a new technology, and on the other the impact on the body and its pictures.

Furthermore, they realize how problematic the reduction of the body to pure information would be. Therefore, they suggest a critique and discovery of simple Expectations and steadfast portray the embodiment in Real Life.

Included in the exhibition for viewing, in the Medialounge and Interactives are video projections and video exhibtions, internet, CD-ROM and photoworks such as sculpture. With a Bioadapter the visitors have the possibiltiy to self navigate the exhibition.
