"Circa 1900: Design at the Turn of the Century"

The Dallas Museum of Art will showcase highlights from its distinguished and diverse 20th-century
design collection in a series of three exhibitions focusing on design from 1900 to 1970. The series
begins with Circa 1900: Design at the Turn of the Century. Featured in the exhibition are important
examples of American and European furniture, glass, ceramics, textiles, and graphics from this
period. Opening the exhibition will be a display of objects in the arts and crafts and art nouveau
tastes.
Included in the exhibition will be furniture by the American arts and crafts master Gustav
Stickley, as well as the French art nouveau designer Louis Majorelle. Frank Lloyd Wright designs,
Louis Comfort tiffany glass, George Jensen silver, and Alphonse Mucha posters will also be
present as will objects from the style centers of Paris, Munich , Berlin, Copenhagen, Brussels,
London, Chicago, and New York.
