"Beyond and Behind the Mask"

This juried exhibition, sponsored by the Women of Visions, one of the Center's
guilds, features the work of regional and national African-American artists.
Work included explores mask forms as both cultural and spiritual expressions
in traditional African art forms, as well as in contemporary societal
issues.
The exhibition was juried by nationally renowned artist, Willis Bing Davis
of Ohio.
Beatrice Lebreton of Dallas, Texas is one of the artists whose work was selected. An image of her entry, *Passi-Motto Passi-Bongo (Half Being Half Wood,) was chosen to represent the exhibition on the invitation for the
event.
