"Maureen Quin: The Hunt Series"
2001-04-17 until 2001-05-06
NSA Gallery
Durban, , ZA South Africa

Well-known South African sculptor, Maureen Quin will present a series of works at the NSA Gallery that has been eight years in the making, twelve bronzes that are thematically linked and termed The Hunt Series. Quin state that I have tried to express, in sculptural form, the horror I feel for man’s inhumanity to his fellow man compounded with the wanton destruction of our environment in the name of development, greed, power and self gratification.

Quin has had more than forty solo exhibitions, and participated in twenty group exhibitions. She has numerous public and private commissions to her credit and is represented in most major collections in South Africa. She and her husband live in Alexandria, Eastern Cape Province, where she works. Many of her works are displayed in her spacious garden and modern viewing room, which is open to the public.
