This summer classes are being offered at the Summer School in the Penokean Hills (July 16- August 3, 2001) at White Mountain Academy of the Arts in Elliot Lake, Ontario, Canada. From July 16-20, 2001 courses include: Love of the Land, Intro Level, Black Ash Baskets,
Wilderness Photo, Ornamental Metal: Intro Level, Throwing for
Beginners, The Collagraph, Painting and Poetry, Soapstone Carving,
Introduction to Photoshop v5.5, Create Together: Parent and Child,
Exploring Paint and Colour; In the secession from July 23-27, 2001 courses offered: Love of the
Land, Int/Adv Level, Papermaking: Papers from the Wilderness, Ornamental
Metal: Int/Adv Level, The Lithograph, Creative Writing Workshop
I:Approaches to the Short Story, Photography: Intermediate, Shiny Happy
Kiln Formed Glass, Soapstone Carving: Int/Adv Level, Rapid Fire Kiln
Design Workshop (weekend Workshop July 27-29), Black and White
Photography: Intro Level, Throwing for Beginners (12-16 years old),
Story of Art, Building and Constructing; In the final secession from July 30- August 3, 2001 courses
offered are: Using Oil Paints Outdoors, Still Life/Floral, Monotype,
Landscape Painting in Watercolour, Painting with Passion, Drawing,
Creative Writing Workshop II: Approaching the Novel, Photography:
Advanced Level, Creating with Hard-Shelled Gourds, Shiny Happy Kiln
Formed Glass: Int/Adv Level, Paper Heaven, Into the Landscape with the
Impressionists.
White Mountain Academy of the Arts is a unique, post-secondary
educational centre evolving on the leading edge of the international
