An exhibition of recent prints and paintings by Nkosinathi Jali. Born in 1965, Jali joined the uMzansi Art Centre in 1994, where he received instruction from Ken Godfrey. That same year, Jali won the KwaZulu Finance (KFC) calendar award, allowing him to finance his Graphic Design studies at the M.L. Sultan Technkon. During his time at the Technikon, he was explosed to other art-forms.
He teamed up muralist Terry-Ann Stevens and painted murals all over the country. He then began working as a freelance book illustrator and an art instructor. Jali started developing an interest in characters and portraiture, and says he is fascinated by people, their feelings and the way they present themselves in daily life. He is currently employed by the Artworks Publishing and Communication Agency.
