"Clues to the Future: 10 Year Anniversary Exhibition"

Red Gate Gallery's 10th Anniversary is being celebrated by an exhibition called Clues to the Future which seeks to describe the direction in which Red Gate's diverse stable of artists is heading. The gallery asked each artist to prepare a few new works that confirm their recent art practice or gives a clear indication of their creative intention.

For example, we have Su Xinping producing woodcuts after his recent concentration on oil painting, Han Congwu moving to black and white photography, Shi Zhongying turning to stone sculpture after the highly successful debut of his metal sculptures, along with the introduction to oil paintings by emerging artist Zhang Hongbo.

Featured in the spectacular space of the Watchtower will be a specially commissioned installation by the famous papercut artist Lu Shengzhong.

The exhibition also celebrates the return of Red Gate to its original location at the Dongbianmen Watchtower during last year, the launch of an artist-in-residence program and the occasional hosting of international artists in its new space.

A color catalogue will accompany the exhibition.
