"miniWORKS 2001 Opens Today"
2001-07-21 until 2001-08-28
Charnwood Museum
Loughborough, , UK United Kingdom

miniWORKS is the biggest little competition of the year, where no entry is larger than an A5 sheet of paper. This year's exhibition is being hosted by the award-winning Charnwood Museum. The exhibition has attracted over 300 works from artists based all over the East Midlands and the variety this year has been wider than ever. As in previous years, all of the works will also be displayed on the Charnwood Arts website, giving internet users all over the world access to this unique exhibition.

A new category for this year invited entries of sets of six works on a connecting theme and attracted a huge response.

The overall first second and third prizes winners will be joined by the winner of the Mayor of Charnwood’s Purchase Prize, to be selected by the current Mayor CLLR TONY STOTT next week. But one of the prizes will not be known until the end of the exhibition. This is the People’s Choice Prize, selected by the visitors to the exhibition. Every day, every visitor will be able to vote for their favourite piece in the exhibition. The work which receives the highest number of votes by August 25th will be the winner.
