Among the international artists invited to participate in the Septemberfest IV International Juried Art Exhibition, September 4-25th at The Period Gallery is Chinese artist, Baozhen of Beijing. This will be the first US showing for Mr. Boazhen, renowned in his homeland for paintings that he refers to as a celebration of life.

Boazhen asks those who view his art to see the meaning with their eyes, for I never paint a picture casually . . . I only paint pictures which are casual. Earnestness is the spirit of painting, and an artist must use the simple earnest honesty of a child in his work. There is much which goes into painting, including the exploration of the secrets of my ancestors. This causes me to explore myself too, and to constantly refresh my thoughts.

For those who seek a look at China and the passions of its people, Boazhen's work is a must see . . . dispelling the myth of cold desolation, and providing the viewer with a window to an ancient people and civilization unknown in the west for many decades.
