CHRISTINE LoFASO, THE BODY PROJECT
For several years LoFaso has worked with a range of media as a means of conveying ideas about the body and its many guises: social, political, sexual, psychological, spiritual. In the summer of 2000, she developed a series of questions about the body that was sent to a diverse audience of men and women, ranging in age from 20-70 years.
NORA HERTING, I MAKE ART TO AVOID MAKING DECISIONS....and other insecurities
Herting confronts the audience with her insecurities in her latest installation. What most of us suppress will be blatantly displayed as we walk through and are met by ghost-like panties that seem to hover in space, each carrying one of her closeted thoughts.
ELAINE SCHEER, RECENT WORK
The historic and contemporary tiles and architectural installations that she studied in Spain, Portugal and Italy inspire Scheer's most recent watercolor paintings. Concerned not only with the tile installations themselves, she is fascinated by the idea of the tile as a thumb print. The true impetus for this work lies in the underlying cracks, textures and often crumbling places where the tiles once existed.
PATTI ABRAHAM, RECENT PAINTINGS
Chicago painter, Patti Abraham, delves into ideas about beauty and the significance of the present moment in her recent works.
LOUISE McKISSICK AND VICTORIA SCOTT, KRYPTICA
Using books as the basis for this kinetic interactive installation, Canadian born and Chicago-based new media installation artist, Louise McKissick, teams with Victoria Scott, a Toronto-based sculptor who works with large mechanical installations.
