Indepth Arts News: "Call to Artists: Proposals Being Accepted for a Series of Thematic Exhibits in 2002-3" 2001-10-22 until 2001-12-31 Arts Center of the Capital Region Troy, NY, USA United States of America
The Arts Center of the Capital Region in Troy, New York, is
seeking work for both an open call for artists and for a series of
possible thematic exhibits. Visual artists in all media are invited
to submit slides for consideration by a jury of professional artists
and curators. Submitted work will be considered for exhibitions
slated for 2002 and 2003.
New work in all media, including painting, printmaking, sculpture,
installation, video, photography, performance, curatorial proposals
and mixed media presentations is sought for the open call.
For the thematic exhibitions, works that address some aspect of the
following topics is desired: The Story Teller will include works
rooted in narrative, exploring ways artists are working through new
vehicles of voice to tell a story; Life in Transition will include
work that is involved with the idea of change or transformation;
CinemArt will include works from artists who explore sequence or
otherwise are involved with the tradition of film as symbolism or
process; and Home Movies, a companion exhibition to CinemArt, will
explore the vernacular of film, using pre-1970 home movies.
