Left Brain Skills for Right Brain People! Arts Management 34, Spring Semester at Cosumnes River College. Learn how to create a non-profit organization, develop a Board of Directors, market your artistic product, manage your data base, find the funding, and budget and plan for your success!

34 ARTS MANAGEMENT is a general survey class in arts management with emphasis on organization, marketing/development, and financial management which features lectures and discussions with professionals working in the business of arts and culture in Northern California. Fieldwork will include internships with existing arts organizations. There is no prerequisite for this 3-unit class which is acceptable for credit at California State Universities.

Register now for Spring Semester. 34 Arts Management classes will be held at Cosumnes River College, Monday evenings, 7:00-9:50 p.m., January 28-May 27, 2002. Enrollment fee is $33. For more information call (916) 691-7170 or e-mail carswan7@aol.com.

Class instructor is Carson Wiley, former Managing Director of the Sacramento Theatre Company and the Cocteau Repertory Theatre in Manhattan. She has produced, directed and acted in theatres throughout California and New York.

Ms. Wiley designed and taught arts management courses at Cosumnes River College, USC and Sacramento City College, and has taught seminars at nonprofit resource centers and other arts advocacy organizations. She served on the Sacramento Metropolitan Arts Commission, on boards of directors of numerous community organizations, and currently serves on the Advisory Board of Cosumnes River College' River Stage, and the Advisory Council for CSUS Department of Theatre and Dance.

Ms Wiley is the founder of Business Volunteer for the Arts (BVA)/LA and BVA/Sacramento and is an arts and nonprofit management consultant.
