"Gyuto Monks from Tibet in Residence"

The Gyuto Monks from Tibet will be in residence at the Art Gallery from Wednesday 16 January until Sunday 3 February, from Wednesdays to Sundays only. During their time here they will create a Sand Mandala, conduct an extensive series of Holiday Workshops for Children, hold Art Workshops for adults, and present a series of talks offering an introduction to classic Buddhist teachings while providing a useful framework for addressing common life issues.

Daily Programme:
Wednesday through Sunday, 16 January - 3 February 2002 Sand mandala construction throughout the day.
10am: Morning meditation around the mandala
11.45am: Culture for Kids
12.45pm: Dharma talks
3pm: Tantric art class
Wednesdays 7.30pm: Meditation
Dissolution of mandala: 3 February 2002, 3pm

Wednesdays through Sundays: Times as listed
Free with exhibition entry.

Buddhist monks, nuns and practitioners from a variety of countries and traditions provide a dailyprogramme of meditation, chanting, ceremony and art workshops in the specially designed room within the exhibition Buddha: Radiant Awawkening.
