Alex Hamilton’s new abstract paintings and culturally inspired mandalas were successfully exhibited in Holland and in Spain last year. Now he returns to a very familiar space to do his first all abstract exhibition in Cape Town.
AZARA - the restaurant, is located in the same rooms where Hamilton first opened his own BANG the Gallery four years ago. AZARA has built a fantastic reputation for exquisite food and a striking contemporary interior and is an ideal location and backdrop to contemplate the new work.
To embrace and charge the past with a new energy and attitude and to showcase my development, is part of the reasoning why I decided to exhibit at AZARA. It is truly a beautiful space for my new work to make their entry.
Hamilton’s international exhibitions included Mallorca, Spain and Delft, Holland last year and will continue this year in Dublin, Ireland and Dortmund, Germany.
