"Call for Artists: WINE"
2002-04-12 until 2002-12-06
United Nations Photo Club, Vienna
Vienna, , AT Austria

The UN Photo Club is the co-organizer of an international slide contest under the patronage of FIAP, VOAV and IIWF - Donnerskirchner Stierkopf Trophy. The Trophy for the wine contest is a copy of the famous clay-vessel with bullheads of Donnerskirchen in Burgenland. Excavated in the year 1911, it belonged to a man's grave of the Hallstatt C-period (developed Kalenderbergkultur from 700 BC). The vessel was probably used either in cult practice or as a container of alcoholic liquids at feasts; it certainly was not made exclusively for the burial.
