"My Queen Elizabeth: 50 Prizewinning Entries from the CBBC 'Blue Peter' Golden Jubilee Portrait Competition"

In partnership with CBBC 'Blue Peter', this special Golden Jubilee exhibition will show the 50 prizewinning entries in their Golden Jubilee portrait competition by children aged 15 or under. Young viewers were invited to make an A3 size portrait of the Queen in any medium.

Entries were judged in three categories, 7 years and under, 8 to 10 years and 11 to 15 years, by a panel including National Gallery Director Neil MacGregor and artist and illustrator Quentin Blake, who will also open the exhibition.The pictures will also be exhibited online on the National Gallery website.

When it leaves the National Gallery, 'My Queen Elizabeth' sets off on a nationwide tour: it can be seen at the National Museum and Gallery, Cardiff from 23 July to 27 August, the National Museums and Galleries of Northern Ireland at their Ulster Museum site in Belfast from 9 September to mid October, and at the Scottish Portrait Gallery in Edinburgh from 25 October to 19 January 2003.

Frames for the exhibition have been generously supported by the National Art Collections Fund, the UK's leading art charity.
