The Albury Regional Art Gallery invites artists to submit work for the 2002
FLEMING MUNTZ ALBURY ART PRIZE. This is a purchase award and the Albury
Wodonga Regional Art Foundation will make available funds for the purchase
of one or more works of art up to the value of $10,000.The Albury Wodonga
Regional Art Foundation was established in 1989 with an initial donation of
$50,000 from Mr. L. Gordon Darling. Generous gifts and bequests since that
date have enabled the Foundation to assist the Art Gallery to purchase major
works for its collections.
DIARY OF EVENTS

Finished art work to be delivered to the Albury Regional Art Gallery, 546
Dean Street by August 18.
Opening of the 2002 Fleming Muntz Albury Art Prize and announcement of the
purchases August 23.

Unsold art work to be collected from the Albury Regional Art Gallery from
September 23.
Conditions of Entry
1. Works must be rendered on paper. The works may use all forms of mark and
image making on paper excepting those generated through electronic and/or
photographic means.
2. Artists may submit one work only. This work may consist of multiple
images but must not exceed in total 2.5metres in height or width.
3. Work must have been executed within two years of 30 June 2002 and must be
the original work of the artist.
4. Artists will be responsible for cost of freight each way and insurance
whilst in transit. Work will be insured whilst in situ at the Albury
Regional Art Gallery.
5.Works should be suitably framed for hanging. Should artists wish to submit
unframed work for display it must be understood that the work will either be
pinned to the wall or secured on the back with 3M adhesive tapes.
6.All work must be for sale and a 33% handling charge will apply. Artists
must either supply an ATD Statement by a supplier or an ABN and where
applicable include GST in the selling price.
7. All work will be viewed by the judge but may not necessarily be hung. The
judges decision will be final on the purchases and the work to be hung and
no discussion nor correspondence will be entered into.
8. Up to $10,000 will be spent on acquisitions for the Albury Regional Art
Gallery collection. No Commission will be charged on these purchases.
9 At the conclusion of the exhibition all work not sold should be collected
any WEEK day between 10.30am and 4.30pm from September 24, 2002. Work not
collected by October 12, 2002 will be despatched Pay on Delivery to a
nominated address. Any work returned or not claimed will be disposed of at
the discretion of the management of the Albury Regional Art Gallery.
10. An entry fee of $22.00 per work is payable with the submission of the
Entry Form which should be lodged at:

by July 15, 2002 Finished work must be delivered to the
Albury Regional Art Gallery on or before 4.45pm on Sunday August 18.
11. It is recommended that framed work have the glass taped and corners
protected. If framed under perspex mark clearly so that solvents are not
used to remove tape residue. There is no need to tape perspex or plexiglass.
Work must be available for reproduction in the media and for promotional
Purposes.
