"Call for Artist: Participants Needed for Grand Opening"
2002-06-21 until 2002-09-01
Kunsthaus
Unterolberndorf, , AT Austria

On the 1st of September, a unique occasion in the very heart of Europe will bring together internationally renowned artists from all over the world. For one day, Unterolberndorf, an idyllic Austrian village twenty kilometers from Vienna, will be transformed into an artists’ village to coincide with the grand opening of the Kunsthaus – the first Austrian art school for children.

Join professional artists from Austria, the United States, Italy, France, Australia, Russia and a myriad of other countries who will exhibit their work in the Kunsthaus gallery spaces. As part of the celebrations, participants will also be invited to produce a work of art in any genre – a spontaneous artistic response to their thoughts and impressions on the actual day of the opening. These artworks, exhibited and created on the day of Kunsthaus opening, will then form a catalogue and the unique Kunsthaus exhibition, ‘Unterolberndorf Impressions. September the 1st’, set to tour internationally.

The Kunsthaus Grand Opening program also includes the creation of the highly ambitious ‘Art for All’ with all of the participants and guests given an opportunity to decorate their own tile. Assembled together in a mosaic later on the day, the tiles will arguably constitute one of Europe’s largest and most democratic works of art.

The day’s program also includes special events for children of all ages, workshops, performances from theatre groups, fireworks, gourmet meals and an opportunity to be inspired by the innovation and creativity of professional artists from all over the world working alongside each other.

Kunsthaus is the brain and soul-child of Mmag Inna Langner, an internationally renowned artist, whose works have been exhibited in Austria, Germany, USA, Australia, Switzerland, Russia and Ukraine. The first school in Austria aimed at providing children with a comprehensive fine arts educational program, Kunsthaus also offers fine arts and foreign language classes for adults, workshops, international exhibitions, concerts as well as gallery and meeting spaces for artists and students of all ages.

The organizers of the Kunsthaus envisage their grand opening as the first event marking the beginning of the regular gatherings of artists from across the world in Unterolberndorf, Europe’s new artists’ village.

For further information, please contact Inna Langner on innatumarkin@aon.at

All artists under 40 with an international profile interested in being part of the grand opening of Kunsthaus are asked to send an e-mail to Mmag Inna Langner at innatumarkin@aon.at with their up-to-date curriculim vitae and three small image files, preferably in a jpeg format, with the examples of their recent artwork.
