The Midas Touch features new acrylic/mixed media paintings on canvas
with highlights of gold by Gerard Di Falco, and his spiritually inspired miniatures
of found objects (which he calls relics) on dazzling gold canvas. These works
reflect a dramatic change from Di Falco's biting social commentaries on human
interaction to works expressing the inner being in relationship to the beauty
of creation on earth and beyond.
DiFalco won this year’s prestigious Pollock-Krasner Fellowship in
Painting, and was awarded the highest monetary amount by the internationally
renowned foundation. This award was established from the estates of American
painters, Jackson Pollock and Lee Krasner. In the past, DiFalco’s other
accolades have included a Visual Arts Fellowship Award in Painting from The
Pennsylvania State Council on the Arts and the Rutgers University Award in
Creative Writing for Poetry.
