"Wall Space: Images from the AOP Print Collection"
2002-10-15 until 2002-11-05
Association of Photographers Gallery
London, ,
UK United Kingdom
This exhibition will showcase selected modern and contemporary fine art photography from the AOP
Gallery Print Collection, produced both by established and emerging photographers, all of whom are
members of the Association of Photographers. The diverse themes range from 60s and 70s socio-docu-
mentary, through celebrity portraiture, reportage, contemporary landscape and architecture, to still-life
and abstract imagery. The exceptional prints on display utilise not only the traditional photographic print-
ing processes, but, in many cases, also embrace the latest archival digital techniques.
Featuring outstanding international and contemporary photographers, the Collection offers a variety of
work at affordable prices. Images include idiosyncratic constructed scenes from the up and coming Green
Project duo, the unique abstract styling of Laurel Guilfoyle, the immensely popular maritime representa-
tions of Ben Wood, and fabulous animal shots by the award winning Tim Flach.
The AOP Gallery Print Collection represents work from some of the AOP's best-known and successful
members, many of who are internationally recognized with their work in collections belonging to The
National Portrait Gallery, The Victoria and Albert Museum and The National Museum of Photography, Film
and Television in Bradford.
Photography is currently one of the most popular forms of visual expression, gaining a recognized standing
within the art world. The growing interest in collecting photography means there is no better time to
start a collection and the work available is ideal for both the private collector and the corporate client.
The images in the Collection represent photography at its most diverse and compelling. All prints are
signed by the photographer and are archivally printed, with many of the images available in limited editions.
