Pro Arts announces the Call for Entries for The 2002-03 Juried Annual Exhibition Juried by Theresa Harlan, Program Administrator for the Artists Fellowship Program and the Traditional Folk Arts Program at the California Arts Council. The Juried Annual is a competitive exhibition for Pro Arts members working in all media. This competition is highly acclaimed as the testing ground for EMERGING AND MID-CAREER artists.

Selection is by slides only; Maximum of 8 permitted; No minimum

Cost:
Members: $5 per slide
New & Renewing Members: $60 ($50 for students and seniors), includes Pro Arts Membership and entry fee for up to 8 slides

Theresa Harlan is the program administrator for the Artists Fellowship Program and the Traditional Folk Arts Program at the California Arts Council. Previous to the California Arts Council, she was director and curator of the Carl Gorman Museum in the Department of Native American Studies at the University of California, Davis. Harlan is also an independent curator and writer of Native American contemporary art, specializing in photography. Her most recent publication,"Indigenous Visionaries: Native American Women Artists in California" is included in the Art/Women/California, 1950-2000: Parallels and Intersections (2002). Harlan has served on panels for the Sacramento Metropolitan Arts Commission, City of Oakland's Public Art Program, Phelan Award in Photography, and the California Arts Council.

Arts supports, promotes, and advocates for the visual arts and artists from the diverse cultures and communities of the East Bay. Founded in 1974 as the Alameda County Neighborhood Arts program, Pro Arts is a nonprofit artist-based organization.
