Another Time Another Place is a solo exhibition by local Western Australian Perth Artist Paul Ikin.
Through the eyes of another you are able to see the visions and beauty of the surroundings you encounter everyday in Perth. This collection of surreal images are digital paintings and photography stretched on canvas. Paul has pushed digital art in combination with photography to give stale objects, life, texture and beauty.
"With photographic image's and digital media, I create improbable worlds, designs, people and thoughts that are between the real and the unreal" Paul Ikin
This will be the artsit's 5th Exhibition and will be his best thus far, proclaims Ikin.
"I never found the need to study the art of photography or digital media, my creativity found its own way out. I am completely self taught and represented, my paintings are fresh, imaginative and have a raw edge that mirrors modern society.
Paul Ikin has manipulated his photographs on the computer - giving them life, sometimes completely changing the actual image. The depths and movement of colours sink into every painting, creating a relationship with the veiwer and enabling the viewer to see something new.
His exhibitions are not to be missed, selling paintings as quick as they hit the walls.
Paul has exhibited in group claborations and solo exhibits throughout Perth including 274 Gallery in Northbridge and Spoilt Brats in King Street.
