This invaluable informational site, the Artists' Health Insurance Resource Center is designed to meet the critical need for health insurance information in the arts community, where three out of every ten people are without health insurance. The online database where information is organized by state, recently revised and made more accessible through a grant from The Commonwealth Fund, has 12 sections and more than 60 categories of information, not only about getting and keeping health insurance but also about finding health care when you're uninsured, receiving financial assistance for medical bills, and advocating for change in the health care system.
They urge visitors to this site to explore, request additional information or guidance, add to the resources, correct any errors, notify us of broken links, and take our brief survey.
Because health care is a local service and the availability of affordable, quality health insurance differs greatly from state to state, the database is accessed by selecting the state or district you are interested in from a map on the Artists' Health Insurance Resource Center website.
