All Latina artists are invited to submit artwork for our
annual Sulo Mujeres exhibition titled, "Corazonada: Quinceaoera/Fifteen
Years of
Womenís Work." The exhibit debuts Valentine's Day, Friday February 14,
2003.
The exhibit commemorates and honors the Latina women artists in our
community. The exhibition is open to the theme of the heart and the
way
women see the world. The theme "Corazonada" represents a feeling of
intuition, presentiment, and foreboding. "Corazonada" explores the
ways in
which this intuition contributes to an added perception and
understanding of
situations both political and personal. The theme was! chosen to fit
the
times we now live in, and to consider the lives of women in the world
with
the presences of war. The exhibition is open to all media. The media can be
installations, altars, sculpture, paintings, photography, mix media and
arts
and crafts.
Artwork for the gallery must be ready to hang, and
