"Winter Solstice Exhibition Feartures Works by 25 Artists"

THE STUDIO, presents a group exhibition featuring the work of 25 gallery artists from New York City, Westchester, Putnam and Connecticut. The Studio introduces for the first time the work of Eda, Loren Eiferman, Alice Foreman, Cathrin Hoskinson, and Flora Viale. The gallery is showcasing artworks in varied disciplines including painting, printmaking, mixed media, photography and sculpture with several new sculptures added to the outdoor sculpture gardens. Under a dramatic cathedral ceiling, the gallery will permit a schedule of year round exhibitions bringing the best of contemporary art to Westchester. The Winter Solstice Exhibition is on from December 14 through March 23.

Works by twenty-five artists will be on display. Many of the artists are in Museums and Galleries nationally as well as internationally and in the New York Metropolitan area. Sculptures in aluminum, steel, bronze and ceramic are featured in the outdoor sculpture gardens. Three dimensional mixed media wall relief's in bronze, photo emulsion on marble, paintings, prints and more are on exhibit. The featured artists are Sally Aldrich, Joanna S. Astor, Anne Bedrick, Adrienne Cullom, Eda, Loren Eiferman, Sergio Gonzalez-Tornero, Stephen F. Gordon, Robert Federico, Alice Foreman, Marcy B. Freedman, Erik W. Hanson, Sarah Haviland, Cathrin Hoskinson, Robert Kaupelis, Christopher Magadini, John Maggiotto, Susan Manspeizer, Miko Goodnough, J. Pindyck Miller, Francesca Samsel, Judith Steinberg, Tedd Stratis, Flora Viale, and Joyce Wenglowski.

THE STUDIO ANNEX, a satellite gallery of THE STUDIO, is located on 279 Fifth Avenue at 30th Street in Madison Industries Inc. Currently, The Studio Annex is showcasing a solo exhibition entitled "PAPER WORKS: by Judith Steinberg," featuring abstract monotypes, etchings and collages, which continue this sculptor's primary concern, the exploration of carving space and constructing form. The Annex exhibition runs through January 2, 2003. Viewing hours at THE STUDIO ANNEX are 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Thursday.
