"Call for Artists, Writers and Educators: Save a World for Me"
2003-01-24 until 2003-04-30
TradeArt
Paris, , FR France

SAVE A WORLD FOR ME is a contribution to the International Decade for a Culture of Peace and Nonviolence for the Children of the World as chartered by UNESCO. TradeArt proposes to produce a book of art, poetry, and prose written by children in collaboration with artists, writers, and educators. SAVE A WORLD FOR ME aims to present visions of life as seen by children, who are the most victimized by the decisions of lawmakers.

TradeArt is coordinating its efforts with those of the Groupe de Recherche Sociologique et d’Etudes Migratoires to realize this project. SAVE A WORLD FOR ME will convey true accounts written by children and will be delivered to decision makers around the world. SAVE A WORLD FOR ME aims to enlighten and to challenge the politics of aggression by focusing on youths, the forgotten victims of conflicts between nations. It offers children a forum for candid self-expression concerning the experiences of a new generation exposed and subjected to violence, cruelty, poverty, forced displacements, and the inhumanity of war.

TradeArt is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization founded in 1998 for charitable, educational, literary, and cultural purposes. TradeArt promotes the arts, but receives no commission on sales of artists’ works. Projects are produced with public support.

To produce SAVE A WORLD FOR ME, TradeArt is working in collaboration with the Groupe de Recherche Sociologique et d’Etudes Migratoires (GRSEM) (Sociological Research and Migratory Studies Group), a Paris-based nonprofit organization (Association Loi 1901). The mission of GRSEM is to conduct scientific research and to exchange information concerning migratory movement. The directors of GRSEM have published countless books and articles on the topics of sociology, politics, religion, demographics, and cultural identity.
