The graphic work by Marc Chagall displayed at the Foundation is part of the Maeght Foundation collection and represents a selection of lithograths produced over a period of fifteen years. This important work undertaken by one of this century’s greatest painters in a more covert, but by no means less important field, provides us with a closer and more intimate look at the artist and his career.
In addition to the 59 lithographs, among which are Les amoureux, 1951, Couple Ocre, 1952, Nu dans la fenêtre, 1953-54, Notre-Dame en gris, 1955, Derrière le miroir, 1964, also on display will be the original illustrated editions of "Et sur la terre", text by André Malraux and "Celui qui dit les choses sans rien dire", text by Louis Aragon.
