"Sounds of the Soul: Works by Maria Angelo"
2003-02-07 until 2003-04-19
Kitimat Centennial Museum
Kitimat, BC, CA Canada

Maria Angelo will have her paintings shown at the Kitimat Centennial Museum from February 7, 2003 until April 19, 2003 in an exhibition entitled "Sounds of the Soul". Her exhibition is based on her life experience. She paints according to how her soul directs her. Angelo's paintings are in a figurative abstract style, created in oil painting, acrylics and pastels.

Maria Angelo was born on October 2, 1950 in Lisbon, Portugal.

Maria paints and exhibits most of her work in Portugal, although, she has taken part in a group exhibition at the Terrace Art Gallery, and has also had three paintings shown at the Riverlodge Recreation Centre, also in Kitimat.

Maria is a painter of great sensibility, sensitivity and talent, and for this exhibition, she has brought from Portugal 34 of her artworks for us to admire.

It is in her work that she finds no limits to her ambition to dream.

Maria has always had a love for painting, and she started painting as an autodidacta, and later on in life, when she was financilly stable, she attended art school. She obtained her degree in Fine Arts from the "Sociedade Nacional de Belas Artes" in Lisbon .
