The Russian Realism Art League is a nonprofit organization that aims to connect artists wishing to explore traditional methods of artistic representation with Russian instructors and to promote the ideas of Russian Realism. One of the most spectacular times to visit St. Petersburg is during the summer "White Nights" when visitors to the city enjoy near 24-hours daylight.
Artists will work side-by-side with painting masters who developed the traditions of Russian Realism and Impressionism. The workshops will give artists an opportunity to paint the city that, with its many rivers, canals and variety of architectural styles, is known as the "Venice of the North". Enjoy the beauty of the outdoors, painting in locations such as the suburbs of St. Petersburg with their unique Parks, Imperial Palaces and Mansions with a variety of architectural styles.
The Art League is organizing artistic workshops to acquaint the artists with the best traditions of realism in painting and to develop techniques from this acquired knowledge. They will give artists an opportunity to get a better idea about methods, principles and secrets of Russian Realism and Impressionism.
