"Orbatron: The Merchandise - Christopher McLauchlan"
2003-05-02 until 2003-05-11
Canberra Contemporary Art Space
Manuka, AC, AU

It is November 2038, thirty years to the day from the release of the sensational blockbuster children's movie ORBATRON: The New Arrival. Collectors from all over the world have come together to bring you this special exhibition showcasing some of their prizes, including one of the original Egad Rom dolls pristine in its unopened box and signed by the creator, Christopher McLauchlan, aka Dr Possum.

ORBATRON: The Merchandise follows on from McLauchlans first solo show Orbatron in 2000. McLauchlan graduated from The Canberra School of Art in 1996 with a diploma in Textiles. McLauchlan is an artist with autism, this has helped him to focus on minute detail in his computer drawings, paintings and movie scripts.

This project was sponsored by the Pat Corrigan Artists’ Grant managed by NAVA with financial asistance from the Australia Council.
