Indepth Arts News: "Especially When the October Wind: Works by Twelve Printmakers" 2003-05-06 until 2003-06-01 Dylan Thomas Centre Swansea, , UK United Kingdom
To commemorate the 50th Anniversary in 2003 of the death of Dylan Thomas
twelve printmakers from Swansea Print Workshop have collaborated on an Arts
Council of Wales funded project. Twelve prints were produced based on Dylan
Thomas's poem 'Especially when the October wind' which has a special
significance for Swansea. These prints form a boxed set, limited to an
edition of one hundred.
The set will tour as an exhibition which will be launched at the Dylan
Thomas Centre on Tuesday 6th May at 6pm. It will be opened by Malcolm Parr
who wrote the catalogue introduction. Dylan's daughter Aeronwy Thomas will
be present at this event.
Entry and drinks free.
This opening will be followed by a 'Wayz'goose' * buffet celebration at
7:15 pm.
Tickets for this can be purchased for £11.95 until May 3rd from the Dylan
Thomas Centre or by telephone on 01792 463980. They are also available from
the Swansea Print Workshop at 19a Clarence Street.
The exhibition will tour during 2003 and 2004 visiting other venues in Wales
and the UK. It may go to America in the near future. It was previewed in
Brussels at the Welsh National Assembly's Wales Week in March 2003. As part
of the tour there will be a series of workshops run by some of the
contributing artists which will be open to members of the public.
