"20th Century Figuative Works by American Women Artists"
2003-06-27 until 2003-07-27
Figureworks
Williamsburg, NY, USA United States of America

Figureworks is pleased to present a number of select 20th century original works by prominent women artists including Joan Danziger, Gladys Rockmore Davis, Jane Freilicher, Ruth Gikow, Marion Greenwood, Lisa Mangor, Doris Rosenthal, Charlotte Ross, Helen Harvey Shotwell, Sabina Teichman, and Stella Elkins Tyler. These drawings, paintings and sculpture have become available from a private collection of figurative works. This initial exhibition will focus on the women artists from the collection.

These notable artists shaped the face of American art and most are in permanent museum collections including the National Museum of American Art, National Museum of Women in the Arts, Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Museum of Modern of Art.

As Figureworks primariy focuses on contemporary figurative artwork, this is a rare oppurtunity to view and aquire work from this limited collection.
