"Holy Moments - Part 1, Transitioning from Love to Death and God: Work by Kate Hollett"
2003-09-04 until 2003-09-25
Kabat Wrobel Gallery
Toronto, ON, CA Canada

Kate Hollett continues her conceptual search for meaning in abstract concepts, transitioning from love to death and God. After the international success of her I Love You series including the film I Love You Over and Over which was part of Best of Show at the Detroit International Art Film Festival and its upcoming debut at the LA Shorts Fest, Hollett takes on Death and God.

The new show will feature a collection of paintings on Death, God and Faith. There will be two installation pieces. The first one called the Trouble Bubble, a modern day confessional, and the The G Spot (G stands for God). She uses bright colour, collage including ripped up bible pages and fashion magazines, light, sound and sculpture.

In rare moments there is clarity, not the kind the mind makes up or some kind of reflection of a dream or expectation, but the kind of clarity that is timeless and still. Art...Creativity, is my path to this clarity, it is and always will be a guiding light... explains Hollett in her artists statement.
