Visitors to Marsden Hartley (1877-1943): American Painter, on view Oct. 11 through Jan. 4 at The Nelson-
Atkins Museum of Art, Kansas City, Mo., will be able to bear witness to one of the most renowned American
artists of the 20th century.
Immersing the viewer in bold compositions displaying dramatic feeling and color, this special exhibition
features more than 80 original and compelling paintings and drawings by the pioneering, self-proclaimed
“painter from Maine.”
