"Move # 06: A Solo Show by pol.knots"
2003-10-26 until 2003-11-11
galerie La Louve
Louftémont/Léglise, , BE Belgium

Guy Denis, the gallery owner and curator, is presenting Move # 06, a solo show of work by abstract painter pol.knots. The visuals presented in the gallery are all recent works and constructed with mixed techniques on canvas, although the artist's experience spans over 30 years. The overall impression is material, material. But it is not about earth or elements, rather a revisiting based on the cognitive sciences of cosmos and chaos, the travel companions to pol.knots.

This might sound a bit hermetic to a large number of people, but the result speak for themselves. Massive moves playing on ambiguity and paradox are amazingly eye catching. When it comes to place pol.knots, he should be ranked somewhere in an artistic continuum within neo modern trends. However, the artist himself feels modest about his work:

“I used to stress some links between my work and cognitive sciences and pointing out an alleged affiliation with a cosmogonist system as Taoism. Nowadays, I’m happy when I don’t need to supply concepts and a lot of explanation. I feel especially satisfied when uneducated people are attracted by my open proposals and when they don’t ask for a key and not bothering too much about what’s behind. Somewhere, I do believe that I’m working out a small piece of the Garden of Utopia, where human brain is expanding and favouring harmony and peace”.
