Palacio de la Cultura Rafael Uribe Uribe presents Abstract: Paintings by Juan Rodrigo Piedrahita e during the month of November. The artist shows for the first time new works which reflect his new explorations of abstraction. Born in 1960, Piedrahita lives and works in Colombia. Although he is an architect by trade, Juan has chosen to persue his creative endeavors in paint.
Juan Rodrigo Piedrahita's work is of expressionist - somewhere between abstraction and figurative. He has 15 years of experience in painting and has shown in exhibitions in galleries, hotels, artistic associations in, Colombia.
"The work that I've completed in 2003 recalls images of toys - memories of my childhood and the importance of that happy time of my life. I recently created a homage with this series of 50 squares, that was be exhibited in small format at The Palacio of Culture of the city of Medellin in March of 2003."
Juan Rodrigo Piedrahita studied painting courses in different techniques and obtained an Honorable Mention for Young Artists in an event realized at the Museum of Antioquia, Colombia.
