"Call for Artists: This is Cape Town - Amateur Photography Competition"

This year's theme is "This is Cape Town". Cape Town is an extraordinary city which is lived in [and visited] by a diverse and multi-cultural society. The city and her inhabitants make for exciting and unique interpretations and perceptions, we invite you to share your vision. Prize winners and selected work will be displayed for the month of January at Cape Tourism, Clock Tower Centre. Date : 7 January 2004 [opening night for prize winners and media] Venue : Cape Tourism, Clock Tower Centre, V&A Waterfront.

Fund Raising : Part of the proceeds generated from the exhibition print orders will be donated to The Foundation for a Brighter Future, a charity organisation supporting Cape Town’s street children.

Entry Deadline :
12 noon on 28 November 2003 All photographs are to be submitted to Cape Tourism, Clock Tower Centre, V&A Waterfront. [no late entries will be accepted]

Competition Rules : All entrants must understand the competition rules and agree to abide by them. This competition is open to all amateur photographers using any type of camera. In the event of digital cameras being used, all entries must be printed on photographic quality paper. Entries must be submitted along with an official entry form.

You may submit as many entries as you please.

Entry Fee : R30 per image submitted.
Entries fees will not be refunded for any reason and submitted prints will not be returned. TheAntsNest.com does not guarantee that all entries will be displayed in the exhibtion.

Prints submitted may be black and white or colour, 8 x 10 inches. (A4 format).

The following information must be written [using a felt-tip pen] on the back of each print : Photographer's Name and Contact Number/s , Image Title and Location.

You must be able to supply a signed release form from any person(s) appearing in the photograph or their guardians, but do not send release with entry. By entering this competition, all entrants warrant that any photographs submitted to the competition are their own, are wholly original, unpublished in print or electronic media and do not infringe upon or violate any third party's intellectual property rights. Entrants grant to the promoter a non-exclusive, royalty-free right to reproduce and publish the photographs they have submitted, as well as their name, in connection with the use, advertisement and promotion of this and future competitions. Photographers of selected images will be invited to join TheAntsNest.com online photography gallery.

All photographs are to be submitted to Cape Tourism, The Clock Tower Centre, Waterfront by 12 noon on 28 November 2003. Late entries will not be accepted.

The judges' decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.

The organisers' reserve the right to sell copies of all selected work from the competition over the course of the exhibition. 40% of all profits generated by the sale of work during the month of January 2004 will be donated to The Foundation for a Brighter Future charity organisation, 40% will go to the photographer responsible for the sold image and 20% commission payment to TheAntsNest.com.

Failure to meet and agree to all of the above mentioned rules will result in your work being excluded from the competition and exhibition. Your entry fee is not refundable under any conditions.
