"The Black Death by Jason Clay Lewis"
2003-11-14 until 2003-12-21
31 Grand
Brooklyn, NY, USA United States of America

31Grand is proud to present "The Black Death" by Jason Clay Lewis. Inspired plague epidemic of the 1300s as well as current biological threats, Jason imagines what our existence would look like if we were still living under the fear of a rapidly spreading plague. This multimedia exhibition combines medieval tale, contemporary culture criticism, and dark humor.

The story is told through a series of sculpture, photography, video, and drawings. The icons of Jason's narrative include a life-size sculpture of a knight in armor on a battle horse, his holographic-generated sculpture "Key of Light", "Death's Door", a highly detailed 9’ x 7' door adorned with hand-tooled leather depicting nearly a thousand unique skeleton knights.
