JUROR: Brad Schwieger
Brad Schwieger is a Professor of Art at Ohio University in Athens, Ohio. His work has appeared in numerous solo and group exhibitions around the world. He is represented in many public collections including the Mint Museum in Charlotte, NC and the International Ceramics Museum in Germany. His most recent exhibitions include a solo show at the Signature Shop & Gallery in Atlanta and a group show at the Seto Ceramics & Glass Art Center in Seto, Japan. His work is extensively published and he has given numerous lectures and workshops throughout the U.S. and abroad.
ENTRIES:
There is a non-refundable $20.00 entry fee payable to Starbrick Clay. Artists may submit a maximum of three slides. Slides must be 35 mm and in thin cardboard or plastic mounts. Each slide must have the following printed information on the front: Artist's name, Title of Work, and an indication of "top". Mark slides #1, #2, and #3 to correspond with the entry form. Slides of accepted pieces will be retained for the Starbrick website and education file.
PRESENTATION:
All accepted works must be suitably prepared with proper supports, hanging devices, and if needed, clear instructions for installation.
CASH AWARDS:
Award of Recognition..... $500
SALES:
Works for sale must be indicated and priced accordingly. Works not for sale should be marked NFS (Not For Sale) but should be given a value for insurance purposes. Sales will be encouraged. Starbrick Clay will receive commission of 35% on all sales. The commission will not be taken on purchase awards, but a 7.25% sales tax will be deducted from the artist's check. All checks will be issued at the close of the show.
Accepted works will be posted on the Starbrick Clay website and offered for sale. Starbrick Clay will be responsible for shipping costs of pieces sold from the Web site.
LIABILTY:
Every precaution will be taken in handling entries. Starbrick Clay will insure all works on its premises for the period upon arrival through April 5th under a limited insurance policy. However, Starbrick Clay cannot assume responsibility for loss or damage during exhibition or shipping. Artists will be responsible for insuring work in transit to and from Starbrick Clay. Submission of work to this exhibition shall constitute an agreement to conditions set forth in this prospectus and permission to reproduce work for publicity reasons, including placement of images on our website.
SHIPPING:
All shipping and delivery to and from Starbrick Clay is the responsibility of the artist. Shipped entries must be sent in substantial, reusable containers. "Popcorn" packing is not acceptable. Starbrick Clay must receive a check for the return shipping prior to the opening of the exhibit. The check will be voided if the piece sells.
METHOD OF ENTRY:
Mail slides, completed entry form, business size self-addressed envelope (ASE) stamped with a minimum of 60 cents postage for the return of slides and $20 entry fee payable to Starbrick Clay at the following address:
