"Call for Artists: International Prize for Plastic Arts"

Aritst are asked to enter to win the 600 Euro prize for artists working in paint, print, and drawing. The Cultural Association "Valentin Ruiz Aznar", founded on 1981, organizes this competition to aid the development of creativity, and to successfully aquire plastic fine artworks by donation to the Association, and to raise funds to use for cultural aims for the not -for-profit, as established in the organization's statutes.

All selected artists will obtain a Diploma of HONORARY MENTION and Certificate.

1. - PRIZE and HONORARY MENTIONS:

A first prize, consisting of 600 Euros will be granted (around 100,000 pesetas) and Diploma/Certificate.

The Prize could not be declared desert and will be indivisible.

This money prize will be given to the winner in a nominative check.

All the Selected Works as Finalists obtain Diploma of HONORARY MENTION and Certificate.

2. - CDEADLINE FOR ACCEPTANCE OF WORKS:

The deadline for works will conclude on the evening of the 31 of January of 2004 at midnight.

3. - EXHIBITION OF the WORKS, physically and in Internet:

All the Works Finalists will be exhibited publicly during year 2004 in the place and the dates that at its moment the Association determines.

If there were sufficient space, also all the Works non-selected like Finalists will be shown.

Also, the Works Finalists or non-Finalists, will be published in Internet by the convoking Association, reviewing the name of each author (and its stage name, in its case) the title, the technique and the dimensions of each Work, as well as its e-mail and its Web Page, if it will have them.

This publication will not be obligatory on the part of the Association, but this one will do all the possible one to carry out it.

4. - PARTICIPANTS-COMPETITORS:

All physical person, of legal age and of any nationality, and resident in any country, will be able to send to this competition whichever works desired, with no limit to number.

5. - WORKS THAT CAN COMPETE:

All the works to present/display in this Competition will be original, they will not infringe rights of thirds and they will not have been awarded in other competitions.

The ENGRAVINGS (of the PRINTMAKERS) or GRAPHICAL WORKS, in all the cases, will be the First Impression, having to consist in the obverse of each Work of this class the following legend: "FIRST impression", in small characters, but clearly legible.

-- PAINTINGS (to the oil, acrylic or it mixes of both materials), on canvas fixed to rigid support or with frame, or on wood board or cardboard. They will be sent without frame some. Paintings will be admitted on canvas without frame, and without rigid support.

-- ENGRAVINGS or GRAPHICAL WORKS (in anyone of its techniques, except digital impression or by computer), on anyone of the habitual supports of the engravings, without frame some.

-- DRAWINGS (Ink drawing, Indian Ink, pencil, sanguina, waxes, Charcoal drawing), on fine cardboard of drawing, drawing paper or similar. They will have to be given properly fixed and without frame some.

All the Works to compete will be signed by each artist in the obverse, partly visible of each work, with the artistic signature of each competitor author-donor.

WORKS PRINTED coming from Digital Art, Net-Art or by photocopy... WILL NOT BE ADMITTED.

The SUBJECT of each work is open. The Style of each work is open. The minimum size of each work will have to be of 27 cms. x 18 cms. The maximum size of each work will not be able to surpass the 60 cms. x 60 cms.

6. - TO REVIEW Or TO ADHERE IN The BACK OF EACH WORK:

To the Works of size superior to the one of the MINIMUM measures a photo in colour of quality, adhered to the back of each Work will be enclosed to them, in order to be able "to scan it" for its publication in Internet.

In the back of each work writing will go the title of the same one, as well as the complete name of author and, if it had it, its stage name.

In the back of each Work it will go adhered photocopy of the Passport of corresponding author.

In the back of each Work it will go adhered the signed Declaration whose form is included underneath these Terms.

7. - THE SENDING OF WORKS: All the Works will be sent to the Social Seat of the CULTURAL ASSOCIATION "VALENTIN RUIZ AZNAR", situated in Colonia San Sebastián, 10. 5º B. GRANADA - 18006 (Spain).

The sendings of works will take place only by courrier (preferably), or by traditional mail.

Neither the Association nor no of their members will be responsible for possible deviations, losses or deteriorations of the Works because of their sendings or later manipulation.

8. - JURY and FAILURE Of the COMPETITION:

The Jury of this Competition will emit his failure during the first fourth month period of 2,004, communicating it to the awarded author and the finalist authors to it.

The Jury will be constituted by a minimum of 3 plastic fine artists of recognized prestige and a maximum of 10, attended by a member of the Directive Team of the Association. The votes will be secret and the member of the Directive Team will not have right to vote.

The failure of the Jury will be unquestionable, and it could not be opposed nor be put under any class of resource by physical person or legal some. 

9. - DONATIONS:

All the Works sent to this Competiton will be it for Donation to the Cultural Association "Valentin Ruiz Aznar", in order that this one successfully to raise funds to use in its Cultural Aims WITHOUT PROFIT SPIRIT, according to establish their Statutes.

10. - SIGNED DECLARATION:

Each Work that is sent to this Competition will come accompanied from Declaration in writing of each author in whom its complete name consists clearly, his stage name if it will have it, his Passport Number, and the title of work, technique and dimensions, and clear expression that author donates each Work to Association Cultural "Valentin Ruiz Aznar" of Granada (Spain) so that this one successfully to raise funds to use in its Cultural Aims WITHOUT PROFIT SPIRIT, according to they establish its Statutes, and clear expression that each Work presented/displayed to this Competition is Original, does not infringe rights of thirds and have not been awarded in other Competitions.

That is: a Declaration like the described one by each presented/displayed Work to Competition will be necessary.

Each Competitor Author-Donor can print the Form of this Declaration, that is included next (underneath) of these Terms.

11. - All the participants, by the mere fact to participate, accept the complete content of these Terms.

12. - These Terms will be able to be translated to other languages, but the written up ones in Spanish will be the binding and SOLELY VALID OFFICIALS.
