"Paintings by Michael Moon"
2004-02-08 until 2004-03-03
Don O’Melveny Gallery
West Hollywood, CA, USA United States of America

The Don O’Melveny Gallery is proud to announce its 3rd solo exhibition by Los Angeles based artist Michael Moon. The astonishingly beautiful work of Michael Moon’s paintings at the Don O’Melveny Gallery show how use of color becomes an alchemist’s palette. “Consciously or not, there is always a conversation among the tools and materials used and myself. The result, when successful, is a hopefully recognizable and enduring mystery that resonates a deep-seated familiarity from the viewer,” says Moon.

The felt confidence of Moon’s new pieces puts the viewer at ease.  The implicit pictorial imagery of Moon’s abstractions with its skilled application of color and shape conditions our expectations of new painting. Such attunements occur only in the work of an artist of mature intuition.

Born in Los Angeles, California, Moon has exhibited widely in solo and group shows on the west coast, as well as belonging in a number of private and corporate collections.
