"Call for Artists: Seeking Artists, Architects and Designers for Exhibition"

Project Creo: Center for Art and Design is currently seeking artists,
architects and designers
for possible exhibition at The Arts Center's collaborative space at the
Pier. Artists are requested to submit proposals for an exhibition entitled
In Motion, which will run from April 9 - May 29, 2004. Artists, architects
and designers whose proposals include artwork incorporating a kinetic
element in any media (including 2-D, 3-D, video and installation) are
eligible.
Various 2-D and 3-D work investigating some form or degree of
motion or capturing a moment in time may also be submitted. The Center is
primarily seeking proposals that create interactive environments that will
engage visitors to the space. Artists whose site specific installation
proposals are accepted for this exhibition must install the work themselves,
under Arts Center supervision. All other accepted work will be installed by
Arts Center staff.
The installation for In Motion will take place April 1-7, 2004.
Participating local artists
are also required to spend at least 12 hours volunteering or working on art
in the space during the course of the exhibition.
All work is insured while on exhibition.
Deadline to submit proposals: Saturday, March 13th
Notification Date: Wednesday, March 17th
Proposal must contain the following information:
Current artist resume, including address, phone number and email
General artist statement
Proposed artwork or installation for In Motion, including drawings or images
of the proposed piece,
approximate size, materials utilized, hardware needed, amount of time needed
for installation, etc.
Slides, video, cd or photographs of your current work
Self addressed, stamped envelope
Support materials, including past press (optional)
