Martine Clerc lives and works in the Bugey, lovely countryside between Lyon and Geneva.
She is a sculptor and created the trade mark Velours de beton (velvet-concrete) for architecture, panels and monumental works. The exhibition organized by the Contemporary Art Center Lacoux in Rhone-Alpes-FRANCE, is an important installation , with many apparently scattered objects, that could be called " the universe as a garden or the garden as an universe".
" I wanted to show the macrocosmos of unlimited and empty space with strange mineral travelling objects, and, in an other side, the microcosmos of an intimate red room with prints evocating the world of cells and biological life. This room beats like a heart in the exhibition" says the artist.
