A week only to see a group show at Void Gallery, London, that takes you on a journey that is thought provoking, seductive, questioning and curious.Heroin drawings made from the residue collected anonymously, golden apple trees; a metaphor for our new contemporary society, secrets locked away in drawers with tragic stories trapped in jars, cowgirl paintings that hang as altar pieces, floor paintings that trace the movements of human behaviour, the dirty marks of order and chaos recorded on second hand sheets, a 1957 Chrysler Ambassador dashboard that juts out of the woodwork, the sound of pigeons above your head way up in the rafters, images of the urban landscape, installations that capture human presence, the most wanted list and pigeons on location.
ART THAT MAKES YOU CURIOUS provides the opportunity to explore the diversity of artists in a space that echoes with unusual and unexpected vibrations, captivating the imagination and encouraging the viewer to explore the personal interactions with subject, media and the urban environment.
Artists included in the exhibition are Anne Rook, Lucy Steggals, Tom Kemp, Greg Rook, Sue Cohen, Mark Bell, Jon Howe, Lee Birkett, Nick Ferguson, Marc Newton, Maslen and Mehra.
Shoreditch Tabernacle Hall is located at 18-20 Hackney Rd E2 London.
